The pronounciation of Psapp

Carim Clasmann and Gaia Durant, the dynamic duo known as Psapp, are back with an new album! The name is: The Camel's Back, and today it already exists for three days.
You may know Psapp from "Cosy in the Rocket", Grey's Anatomy's theme song. And if you don't, you should know them by now.

The first video from the album is "The Monster Song":

It makes me so curious about the other songs! I love their sound, soft electronica with use of toys and other weird stuff, well that's a creative mind!

She cut her hair and had the world at her feet

If there's a thing I really love, it's an oldfashioned movie. The clothing, the whole setting, the language ("It's marvelous, marvelous!") and the wonderful actors and actresses are delightful. Jean Seberg is one of them, the boyish American actress from the '60s.

Photo's from Google

This is a clip from the movie "Bonjour tristesse", made in 1958. Jean plays Cecile, a seventeen years old girl who spends her summer holiday with her father.

I haven't seen any movies with the lovely Jean yet, but I'm searching for this one. Or her most famous one, "À Bout de Souffle", which was the French classic that listed her as a screen icon. Sounds très bien, n'est-ce pas?

And to make this post a bit versatile, here's this great editorial inspired by Jean Seberg. I like that haircut a lot!

The greatest show on earth

I just love circus editorials. The magical theme, bright colours and fantastic set always leads to these kind of wonderful fashionshoots.
My two all time favorites:

Here's to the wind that blows and the ship that goes and the girl who fears no danger

These fairy-like paintings and illustrations are from Catherine Campbell. If you like it, it’s possible to buy some of her artworks at this Etsy shop. And she also has a nice blog: My folk lover, definitely worth watching it!

So, that’s enough with the advertising. I just love her work. I love the colours she uses, the magical themes, the red cheeks and that scentence. Here’s to the wind that blows and the ship that goes and the girl who fears no danger.

And I shared a secret, secret with a stranger

It took some time, but my first video of the concert from Cocoon is online. The concert was amazing! Mark and Morgane were so funny. And they sound beautiful live, very beautiful.

Everytime I watch this video it makes me happy. We spend almost 13 hours in Amsterdam so I think you can imagine how tired, but fulfilled, we went home. It was such a perfect day.

Let's show me some great sense of style

If there’s anyone I'd love to look like, it’s the British style-icon, former fashionmodel and TV presenter Alexa Chung. She’s got lovely outfits and must have a marvellous wardrobe. Oh, and she’s pretty pretty pretty.

Photos from Flickr

Alexa could wear a dustbin bag and still look fashionably, don’t you think?
I especially like the lace dress from the second pic. If anyone knows where I can find something like that, I'd be thankful forever and ever.

Well, tomorrow - or actually tonight, because it's already the 23th, hurray! - I'll go to a concert in Paradiso, Amsterdam. It's from Cocoon, two wonderful French musicians. Here's one video, I hope the day after tomorrow there'll be some live videos!

Face your pockets!

It's a funny project where people can scan their head, really!, and all the stuff they carry in their pockets or bags. I thought that my bag was always fully loaded, but some of those photos definitely changed my mind.
You can find the photographs and more information here.

Note: Some photos are a bit freaky with strange folded heads, but hey, I never knew your hair looks that amazing on a scanner!

More than just a book

Hi there! I'm back and I've got a great artist to share with you. Her name is Jennifer Khoshbin.

Words, or even letters, books, photos and drawings. That's her magic.

It's a lovely story time

I saw this story on the streetstyle blog Styleclicker and it put a huge smile on my face.

On Monday morning, I saw this guy right in the street where I was living. High fashion dress, white socks… interesting. He was busy talking on the phone so I looked for a background first. Then I asked him if I could take a picture for my street style blog and he was very kind and said yes. He was waiting for his taxi to come and seemed to be in quite a hurry, but it was enough time to take some shots.

I wanted to know if he was working at the fashion week. “Kind of”, he replied. After having taken the pictures, I asked him to fill out a form with his name and contact data as I always do. When he signed it I just said: “Oh my god, it´s you” - Marc Jacobs gave me the sheet and got into his taxi. What a nice person. And what a great beginning of my Paris fashion week adventure.

Lovely story and photo's from Styleclicker

I saw the documentary of Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton a while ago. Marc is crazy, but in a fun way! It's fantastic to see how they work, where they work and how they prepare everything for a fashion show.

Anyway, I'll go to Utrecht tomorrow, yay! A big city in the middle of this small country. Me and my classmates will see an interesting movie about food and love or something, do a workshop belly-dancing (oh my!) and we'll party all night long. I'm looking forward to a lot of fun!

So that's why I won't post any blogs for a couple of days. Because after the citytrip, I'll go to a friend for a few days. She lives in a cute village, on the other side of the country. Wooh, I love autumn and I love holidays!

From runway to streetway

If there’s anyone who can rock the eccentric looks of futuristic fashion designer Gareth Pugh out of the runway, it’s Roísín Murphy. She attended the Dior show with this look. And she definitely rocks it!

Photo’s from Jak and Jil Blog and Style

I really liked the black and white in his collection. It reminded me of the two-tone Chanel tights. If I could ever find a lovely (knock-off) pair of those...

PS. If you have some time left, you should visit Jak and Jil and their blog. Great photo's, great outfits and perfect shoe details.

Home sweet home

Five Swedish girls, known as Those Dancing Days came up with a new album: In Our Space Hero Suits. They made a nice song, “Home sweet home”, with an incredible video:

This video portrays my imagination so much. I would love to jump into a postcard, discovering what’s behind it.

So many people, so many styles

Lookbook is an amazing network where people can show their style, their personalities and creative minds. I just discovered a "Lookbook-badge" which I can put on my blog. And that means: everytime you visit my blog, you can also see four of the hottest outfits!
Here are some of my favorites I saved:

I like the feminine style with lots of vintage stuff, soft colours and sweet details with sometimes a incompatible black jacket very very much.
